# Just start writing — Kelford Labs Daily

“Just start writing.”

That’s the advice.

That’s the advice I’m giving and the advice I’m getting.

See, I didn’t know what to write for today’s newsletter. I rarely struggle for ideas, but I think the combination of heat waves, travel preparation, and the generalized anxiety about, you know, <*gestures broadly>*, kept the inspiration at bay.

So I went to my database of quotes, where I’ve been collecting notes and references from every book I’ve read for more than a decade now, trying to get some advice on how to get started.

Because, yes, sometimes I struggle with my marketing content, too.

But do you know what the quotes said?

[Once you get going](https://kelfordinc.com/how-writing-gets-going-kelford-labs-weekly/), you can correct, you can steer. But without momentum, you can’t change course. You can’t improve.

You can’t [edit](https://kelfordinc.com/daily-lab-no-blank-pages/).

**And editing’s what counts. So having something *to* edit is all that matters, when starting.**

So that’s the advice today, for you and for me:

Just start writing.
