Imagine you’re hungry and in the mood for pizza.

**If you’re in an unfamiliar city, looking for a place to eat, what’s the *most important piece of information* a restaurant could give you?**

Is it their values, principles, or perspective on the culinary arts?

Is it their history, story, or founders’ experience?

No, right?

**It’s that *they sell pizza*.**

Everything else is irrelevant if it’s delivered too early. What people need to know *first* about us is that we do the thing they want done. We sell the thing they want to buy. We make the thing they need.

*Then* we reveal our principles and priorities so that they *choose us* because we’ve made them more [*comfortable*](https://kelfordinc.com/content-makes-them-comfortable-kelford-labs-daily/) than everyone else.

Because we’ve demonstrated that our *tradeoffs* align with their values.

**But if they don’t even know if we sell pizza or not, they’re not going to listen to our story.**

So go take a look at your website, your ads, or your Google results.

Tell me: Are you talking about your history, your story, your perspective, your principles, and your experience *before* you tell people what you do?

**Reverse the order, and notice who starts noticing you.**
