It is, though, isn’t it?
Marketing’s easy when you’ve got time on your hands. When you’re looking at a sparse pipeline and you suddenly get the motivation to post, to write, to promote.
But once things get busy again... goodbye marketing.
I know this happens because it happens to everyone, including me.
I haven’t really posted on LinkedIn for weeks now. Yes, a link to a newsletter here and there, the occasional Like of a friend or client’s content, but nothing truly substantial.
Why? Because we’re busy and it felt easy to skip.
But you may have noticed one thing:
This newsletter is still going.
Despite the busyness, despite the stress and fatigue that comes with having a lot on the go, this element of our marketing keeps going, too.
Why? How?
Because it’s a habit. Because it feels bad not to.
That’s my secret, and that’s the secret of sticking with your marketing even when you’re busy with other things:
Focus on doing one thing and make it a habit.
So that when you get caught up with other things, you don’t skip that one.
And when things slow down a bit, or you suddenly find yourself with motivation, you’re not starting from scratch.
Because you never stopped.
