I have a simple test for deciding where to spend advertising dollars:

Ask yourself:

You might think: But I’m not trying to market to my current clients, I want new ones.

Indeed! But don’t you want new clients that are similar to your best ones?

That means, to get more like them, you need to market in places and spaces where they already are.

And where your current best clients go is a great place to start.

So, today, we’re running ads on a popular tech podcast. It’s one we really like, and have been fans of for a long time.

But, more importantly, I suspect one or two of you may already listen to it. I suspect that one or two of you might even hear it later on today when it’s published, or over the next few days when you get around to listening to it.
