“What should I write about in my newsletter?” is a question I get fairly often, and it actually has a fairly simple answer.

See, we get into trouble when we think our marketing content, like our newsletter, LinkedIn posts, or our YouTube channel, could be about anything.

With a world of options to choose from, we stall and stumble and end up frustrated.

But, actually, your newsletter shouldn’t just be about anything.

It should be about what your audience signed up for.

Think about it this way:

Why would someone sign up for your newsletter? What did you tell them you’d be delivering in it? What did you say they’d get?

Whoever signed up, and however many may have, they signed up for a reason. A reason that’s probably definable and identifiable. It might even be sitting on your sign-up form right now.

So go read it again. Go scroll through your subscribers list.

Ask yourself: What did these people sign up for?

And give them more of that.
